Hogwarts Legacy is a premium action-adventure RPG set in the magical world of Harry Potter. If you grew up reading the adventures of “The Boy Who Lived” or enjoyed any of its movie adaptations, this game from Portkey Games and Avalanche Software is definitely for you.

Hogwarts Legacy takes us to the end of the 19th century, a time of change and magic where you´ll take the role of a young aspiring wizard or witch who has been admitted to Hogwarts. However, your arrival at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry doesn’t follow that of a typical student. What’s special about your character? You will have to play to find out, but trust us when we say you are destined to do great things.
After the welcome ceremony and being sent to your house by the Sorting Hat, you'll start your adventures at Hogwarts. You’ll be able to go to class, make new friends, or chill during the weekends at Hogsmeade sipping a jar of refreshing butterbeer. Your time at Hogwarts is entirely yours, so feel free to have all the fun you want at your new magical home.
And what about the story? Is it any good? We’re thrilled to say that it doesn’t disappoint. While exploring Hogwarts and its surrounding areas you’ll slowly unravel a plot that, following the same formula as the Harry Potter books, mixes fantasy and magic with big doses of mystery. We’ll assure you that once you start, you won’t be able to stop playing until you see the credits roll.
An open world full of adventures
One of the main attractions of Hogwarts Legacy is that it’s the first open-world game based on the Harry Potter universe. These are always great since they let you freely explore a huge map full of adventures, activities, and all kinds of hidden mysteries. Games such as The Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption II are still considered nowadays as the best examples of perfectly developed open worlds.
This game surely fares well with these celebrated titles. The developers gave shape to the Potter universe in a massive map where we won’t just be able to explore Hogwarts, but all its surrounding areas too. The game includes a powerful character-creator tool that will let you choose if you want to be a wizard or a witch. Spells and challenging combat system
What about the spells? Well, these are exactly the same ones we all grew to learn and love. Get ready to wave your wand and say classics, such as Accio, Incendio, Lumos, or Windgardium Leviosa. Some of the most horrible curses in the Harry Potter universe are also available. These spells will not just help you in combat but also solve puzzles throughout the game.
Remember that the Potterverse is full of magic and fantasy, but also danger. Through your adventures, you’ll have to face all sorts of villains and magical creatures that will stop at nothing to make you disappear. To defend yourself, you’ll have your trusty wand, nerves of steel, and an excellent combat system that has been clearly inspired by the Batman Arkham saga from Rocksteady.
